Freshness Guide

Follow these best practices before handing off your fruit to ensure happy buyers and repeat customers.

01

Pick at the Right Time

Harvest fruit the same day (or within 24 hours) of pickup. Choose ripe fruit — not overly soft, not underripe. Avoid fruit that has fallen on the ground.

02

Gently Wash & Dry

Rinse fruit under clean running water. Do NOT soak for long periods. Pat dry with a clean towel and remove leaves, dirt, or visible debris.

Keep It Fresh — Not Frozen

Do NOT freeze or over-refrigerate fruit before pickup. Store in a cool, shaded indoor area. Never leave fruit in direct sun after harvesting.

Fresh fruit = natural texture + natural flavor.

04

Package Cleanly

Use a clean paper bag, produce bag, or box. Avoid overstuffing — fruit shouldn't be smashed. If selling by weight, measure accurately.

Presentation builds trust.

Be Honest About Condition

If fruit is slightly soft or best for juicing, say so. If it's perfect for eating fresh, highlight that. Buyers appreciate knowing what they're getting.

Transparency = repeat buyers.

Safe Handoff

Set pickup time clearly. Leave fruit in a shaded area if doing porch pickup. Avoid long outdoor exposure in hot weather.
